本展では、「ミエナイノゾミちゃん」は《人間デパート》というタイトルのシリーズ作品に登場します。一方、「ミエテルノゾム君」は彼女と同じ時間軸の場所や撮影現場をめぐり、さらに時代を越えて旅を続ける中で、ついにはジュラ紀と現代が交錯する世界に辿り着きます。そうした視界のパラドックスを、平面作品とアニメーション作品を通してぜひご堪能いただければ幸いです。

原画から音楽まで全て自身が手がけた映像作品の他、ペンキで描いた絵画作品やライブペインティングでも注目を集めてきました。照沼敦朗は 生まれつき視力が弱いことから、世界を見渡せることを臨む「ミエテルノゾム」と社会の現実を見えすぎることに嫌悪感を持つ「ミエナイノゾミ」という相反するキャラクターを生み出し、近年はアーティスト イン レジデンスや国際展と展示の場を広げています。

In this exhibition, Mienai Nozomi-chan appears in a series of works titled Human Department Store. Meanwhile, Mieteru Nozomu-kun visits the same locations and shooting sites along her timeline, and as he continues his journey across eras, he ultimately arrives at a world where the Jurassic period and the present day intersect. We hope you will enjoy experiencing these paradoxical visions through both two-dimensional works and animation.

In addition to video works entirely created by himself — from the original drawings to the music — Atsuro Terunuma has also gained attention for his paintings made with acrylic paint and his live painting performances.
Born with a visual impairment, Terunuma created two contrasting characters: Mieteru Nozomu, who longs to see the world clearly, and Mienai Nozomi, who feels disgust toward seeing too much of society’s reality. In recent years, he has expanded his activities through artist-in-residence programs and international exhibitions.
